She was just a kid. Late in the afternoon of 18th March 2019, the body of 16 year old X.F. was recovered from the Aripuanã river. She had been on a boat with friends + they had been playing by jumping from the boat into the water. But on one of the jumps, 'X' did not surface. Her father was seen in despair as he watched his daughter's body being pulled out of the river. She had been eaten by piranhas.

You (couple) people are really gonna say piranha don’t bite or eat people who are living? It’s not common but it absolutely happens. One condition is needed for that to happen, a school of fish only need be hungry. Anything living dropped into that mess will be not only bitten, but eaten. Guaranteed. And quickly! As far as ‘not feeling a bite’... I call bullshit right here. Why does everyone else who has had a single bite need to go to the hospital to have it treated? Why do people with several bites come back half skeleton? Have you even seen their teeth? Look, then tell me their bite is harmless. If you do I’ll call you out as a liar too. |

I’m reading about piranha kills and most of them are young women and children(although some articles say they can’t confirm if the child drowned first). Leading me to believe what I said earlier; size matters. Also I’d bet that many of those girls wore jewelry which appears as scale(or perhaps were on their period since they can smell a drop of blood in 400 liters). Even sharks will try to go after smaller humans(much like a mountain lion size intimidated them). Predators go after the weakest link. |
