A young man, identified as Kaio E.A.R.S.d.P., 19, was shot dead on Thursday night (21) in a bar in the center of Caratinga, Minas Gerais state. The crime was recorded by the establishment's security cameras.

After the crime, the suspect ran off through a thicket on the banks of the River Caratinga. A police team searched the area, but only found the suspect's jacket. Kaio was rescued by people who were at the scene, but was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

According to the police, the victim had no criminal record. The motive for the crime is still unknown.

I find it disturbing how NO ONE tried to provide CPR or anything. Don't know if it would have made a difference but they could have tried.

They were, understandably, pretty shocked and didn't know what to do at first. (The guy behind the counter didn't duck, he just stood there and stared).

But that should have worn off after a few seconds and as they regained their senses ...

You'd expect them to have better first aid skills. Its not like they live in a country where shootings and other sudden deaths are unknown ...

According to Police, after committing the crime, the perpetrator entered the banks of the River, and then managed to exit the place where he got into an app car and was taken to the Zacarias neighborhood, where he was left, but not was found at that time by the police.

The suspect,22, who is from Ubaporanga, was arrested inside a hotel. He was arrested, he denies the crime, but the information brought by the dynamics of the facts and by the app driver, police were able to attribute the authorship of the crime to him.

Both the victim, who is from Piedade de Caratinga and was sitting inside his aunt's bar, and the perpetrator, have experience of drug trafficking and the police believe that the dispute over the sale of narcotics in the locality is the reason for the crime.

I don't get why people who deal drugs in violent places such as Brazil sit so casually out in the open while apparently unarmed. I'd be hypervigilant as a motherfucker.

Yeah, you gotta wonder if some of these guys are just mentally deficient. If I was a drug dealer, I WOULDN'T sit out on my front steps drinking. And I'd be getting my food To-Go, not opening the bag and starting to munch on the streetcorner.

Those chicks are "standard-issue" at EVERY bar in Brazil. There are probably a Brazilion of them!
