"...According to the youtube user skinnedface, who is well known as a commentator on gore videos on youtube and who commonly leaves comments on disturbed reality’s videos, this is Samuel Hervey, previously Samantha Hervey before transitioning. He said he was a member of this group and he claims that Samuel has been planning to do this for years. Apparently he was obsessed with Tibetan Monks and self immolation. He talked about doing it for years and did it on discord so that they could post his “gore video.” Allegedly he even traveled to China to do it. He also said that his parents removed his obituary from online and since no crime was “technically”committed, those are the reasons why there is very limited info of this incident online. The Telegram group 764 claims responsibility for this, but according to him, Samuel did it because he wanted to and not because anyone forced him to..." |

These days there was a lengthy article about this case and other similar ones in a German news outlet (Spiegel), apparently there are internet forums and discord groups whose members' are specifically looking to find mentally unstable people with tendencies to self-harm and suicide which they try to talk into degrading, hurting and even killing themselves in front of them via live-stream. It said there that the group's members see it as sort of "trophy" to successfully get people to do stuff like that, hence they said things like "we did it guys"... Sick, sick world.
