To be fair...if you watch his eyes...it appears he loses consciousness after a few seconds and the rest is likely just involuntary movements mostly....so maybe it wasn't too bad for him? We can hope!

Using a rope and putting the correct pressure on the throat will cause a person to almost instantly pass out. The brain senses the sudden lack of oxygen and shuts down a little to conserve what oxygen is left. If adrenaline levels spike, heart rate is increased, and the body ends up using more oxygen. The brain does what it can to prevent this. Chances are with his throat being completely whacked open, he probably only felt the initial slicing before he went unconscious. That's if his brain didn't kick into survival mode and caused him to go into shock. Which is probably what happened to him, seeing he's still wriggling. He probably didn't feel much of anything. It's such a horrific way to die, but the human body has an amazing way of defending itself from something like this. |

I'm getting to the point I can't look at the work of these savages any more. I come with a sense that I need to confront the reality lived by those unfortunate not to live in my sanitised Australian bubble, but I'm left feeling so powerless & my nation so hypocritical when it refuses asylum to refugees whose only crime is the will to live in peace. The worst criminals are those who, claiming religious superiority & relationship with God, torture & murder anyone who's beliefs differ from theirs. Heinous acts that, in a faith that denies them music, laughter & genuine love, amount to their only entertainment. I only pray these stone age values & behaviours never gain a foothold in countries where the rule of Law still holds sway!
