His femoral artery was severed for sure, the only reason I can think of him still being alive and not bleeding out yet is that the heat from the trains wheels running over him cauterized the wound and sealed up the arteries. He's still bleeding just very, very slowly, doctors might have a chance to save him if they can get him to the hospital in time, but I don't know if he'll want to live the rest of his life with no legs, sucks to be him that's for sure.
