Young Man Drowned at the Beach Yesterday

Yesterday (15th July 2018) at a beach in Tucuruí, 22 year old Lucas Arcanjo drowned.

He was with friends + disappeared in the water. His friends tried to find him but couldn't + had to get help. By the time Lucas was found, it was too late.

Re: Young Man Drowned at the Beach Yesterday

Poor kid. I hate to see drownings because many victims are children. Also, swimming is such a happy, fun, summertime activity, good for anyone... (theoretically anyway!) It's a sign of summer, a carefree time when kids are out of school and going to the pool or pond to cool off.
Then, for a few like this kid, life ends. Far too soon for a kid and it's such an innocent activity that it's hard to imagine death can even happen! Every time I see an actual drowning on here I just want to jump in to help!
It's just really sad, imo.

I remember how I was taught to swim. My dad was drunk we were on a boat I was 6 so he picked me up and said (queres nadar) wanna swim? And threw me over board in a lake somewhere in Oklahoma

But in all seriousness I think learning how to swim should be mandatory for anyone

Re: Young Man Drowned at the Beach Yesterday

Can we assume you learned to swim that day your father threw you in? You are alive after all...

I learned literally the exact same way, word for word but in a pond in Texas.

Swimming on the beach is very dangerous for most people. Most are not good with water like surfers

That's no beach.... Looks like he was swimming in a sewer canal. Most likely choked on a turd !
