Makes me glad that I live in England + have the NHS. I feel so bad for those who have to pay out so much money/get refused treatment before payment.

That’s a technique called the ‘sternal rub’. It’s used to wake people who are unconscious or can’t stay conscious. Vigorously rub the sternum, the breastbone over the heart, with a closed fist. If that doesn’t work you can rub the upper lip the same way, with your knuckles. These techniques provide just enough discomfort that it should rouse someone who’s passed out or lightly unconscious. The thing that bothers me is how the hospital employees can just stand by if someone is suffering! Even though I understand they’re a business and they have financial rules they go by, I still can’t understand letting someone suffer or pass away over money! I couldn’t do that, couldn’t work there, not like that! |
