Re: Young Guy Thrown from a High Bridge

I'm always scoping my immediate surroundings. I just try to appear relaxed and not paranoid. Never call attention to yourself. If you look afraid, that's when they know you've given over your power to them.
I'm same way, I had to learn that lesson the hard way though. Kind of a long story but a couple young thugs tried to snatch my phone in broad daylight on a busy street, and I mind fucked them in order to get out of that situation unharmed.

I was an easy mark tho...headphones in, eyes glued to my phone, never saw the dudes coming behind me on the bike (one was sitting on the handlebars while the other peddled.)

They failed to snatch my phone tho, and after realizing these dudes really just tried to take my shit, I glared at them as they rode on ahead of me and kept looking back at me, so I shouted "yeah try that shit again!".... so, they did.

They stopped at an intersection and went right, so when I got there I saw them waiting for me. The adrenaline was pumping by then, so I was prepared, and they failed to take me down to the ground by grabbing my backpack from behind.

Then the mind games began...I was trying to buy some time to figure out wtf was going on... I had my palms out but I was also in a ready combat stance (I didnt know any martial arts, but apparently I looked convincing.)
They informed me that I was the wrong color tho, so I used a fake accent and said I was the same as color them, which actually made him pause for a second .They warned me and said I shouldnt come back because apparently this busy main street was in their gang territory...or they'd fuck me up, (even though they had the 2 to 1 advantage..) but they just fucked off after trying to save face with all their gang lingo. They didnt even bother to ask for my phone.

I became super vigilant after that. But sometimes all you need is a little psychology to get out of a sticky situation... but i think it's probably better to use little psychology to not become a victim in the first place.

Sad, just a young man minding his own business then gets his life cut short. This act reminds me of those Russian guys who killed a few people by stabbing their victim's eyes with a knife or screwdriver. They finally got caught. I think they did go to prison.
If you're talking about the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs, they were a couple of bored rich kids that killed like 21 people. The 2 dudes that were doing the killing in those videos got life, and the camera guy got 9 years.

Re: Young Guy Thrown from a High Bridge

A gun wouldn't do much in that distance... Distance and eye contact and watching hand movement is key.

He failed the moment he backed up to a no escape situation and let them too close and surround him, those actions send the hairs straight up on the back of my neck.

Guns work only when you can assess, read the situation and put yourself in fight mode, this kid dove head first into flight mode.

You're ABSOLUTELY right.
I'm a girl and whenever I feel vulnerable out at night, alone, I pull my hoodie up and swagger a bit like a man when I walk. To make myself appear to not be a female and less of a target.
Main thing is to not appear vulnerable / distracted / weak.
That alone will make you less of a target.
It's something you pick up growing up in rough neighborhoods.
This one bothered me quite a bit too. Poor kid. He was scared. I wonder what lead up to that.
Rest in peace dude.
