Worker Electrocuted After Electricity Supply is Accidentally Turned On
Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, India A contract worker of the Electricity Department, who was working on the transformer after shutdown, died due to electrocution. The incident took place when the supply was switched on unknowingly from the substation. When it was reported that the cable of a transformer installed near a school got burnt, the victim, B., went with his colleagues to repair the cable. He was still working when suddenly the supply started. Officials say that negligence will be investigated in the incident and a case will be filed against the guilty. After the incident, the contractual workers of the electricity department boycotted work and demanded justice for B. |
