It's called 100% tie-off. Do it. If you try to skip your way by this, here is where you end up. I've worked 180 ft hanging from a wire and a lanyard... Be damned if I'd EVER do that shit without being 100% safe. And this is one reason I refuse to do roofing work. Screw a falling death, that'd be some scary shit to experience..Not that you'd recall it.
