The thing about going for the part of the body thats easiest to eat makes sense, but our face is also an identifying feature, which has made me wonder why pets still go for it, wouldnt they still recognise it as their owner?
Thank god she was already dead. When I'm dead it's pretty much the same what happens to my body. Maybe it would feed some hungry dogs. The Tibetan tradition of feeding the corpses to birds is pretty cool.
To me it looks like she was alive, due to the amount of blood, but not conscious when her face was devoured... That's just the impression I get from her posture, the lack of injuries to critical areas like the throat, etc.
