I agree. Dogs are the reflection of their owners. They only behave like this when either encouraged or not discouraged or disciplined and exercised. I feel sorry for the dogs, it's no life for them to live being like this. I do also feel for the victims. They are victims due to irresponsible dog owners.  |

You know, I love dogs. I also had a huge post ready to defend pit bulls. Did some research so i could shove it into the anti-pitbull peoples faces...It backfired. From 1982 to 2013 45% of dog bite related deaths have been Pit bulls. I don't think the correct response is eradication. However, when picking a pit bull you should take into consideration everyone who would be near the animal. They aren't overly aggressive, in terms of animal attacks that both fatal and not fatal they average out with other dogs...but they're powerful which is why so many victims die. It's sad, I love dogs...but the facts are there. (I'd still adopt one) |

Note: Aggressive humans do tend to pick a more physically aggressive looking dog which could also correlate to the statistics. To this day no study has taken into consideration attacks by dogs with poor training, something they should be noting on these studies.

looks like both these videos are from different countries, where dog fighting is more prevalent. any breed of dog could bite someone. but pitbulls are bred to cause the most damage when they get a hold of something, and it's an instinct to not let go. still, it's not fair to blame the breed. all dogs, especially large breeds need an assertive owner to train them, or to go to training classes. and they aren't for everyone. train a dog to fight, and be agressive and that's what it's going to do. |
