not untrue, friend, but a clarification seems in order; her extreme recklessness perhaps came from the fact that she was potentially a novice. Anyone with experience would've known attempting to lift this much weight was injury city.

peckerhead in the muscle shirt, now there's the culprit. it's all on him from where I stand. He should've known better, veterans (judging from the dude's heft, I'll surmise that he's not a beginner) have an unspoken responsibility towards beginners in the gym.

I'm 25 years in the gyms, and even when no-neck muscle-heads are benching heavy I, others, keep a discreet watch in case he needs a spots for those last reps as, again, there is a risk of injury there, too.

me too on the gym rat thing and you are right on all of this. The "spotter" looked like a lifter and you would have thought he would know better that a) she had no business trying a lift like that and b) even a hard core lifter attempting a 405 squat should be spotted on both sides. If he is a trainer, he should know 90% of the job is keeping your client safe
