In her defense, if anyone comes toward you with a gun, you're not going to be thinking clearly; ALL of your energy will be diverted towards preserving your own life at any cost. If anything else, I hope the judge at the killer's trial weighs the fact that he--the killer--didn't just shoot at the guy indiscriminately, but made sure to only take out the person he had a beef with .
