Re: Woman in a SUV Drowns in Her Car After Driving into a Flooded Tunnel in Houston
Sucks for sure. I think she could've saved herself if only the officer had stayed out of the water. It must have been his white supremacy causing the doors to remain closed I'd say. Evil evil white officer!

Re: Woman in a SUV Drowns in Her Car After Driving into a Flooded Tunnel in Houston
I'd say they were electric powered windows that shorted out, and once it had sunk, there is no way she could have opened the door. Her only opportunity to escape was just before it sank when she first started shining her torch and looking around. A real shame I feel bad for her family.

Re: Woman in a SUV Drowns in Her Car After Driving into a Flooded Tunnel in Houston
This is an old video, but here's a tip to save your life in any situation where car is in water. The head support behind the driver seat and passenger seat. The one you can adjust up or down to rest your head, it can be detached. There will be 2 steel poles as part of the head rest. Jam the poles into the base of the door windows and use it as a leverage against the window. Once the pressure is applied the window will simply shatter and you have an opening to escape.

She hits the water at 6:11 and car starts to sink slowly and submerged completely at 6:23. She waited 12 minutes while the car was filling with water, that was no traffic accident, she died of severe case of stupidity. |

Re: Woman in a SUV Drowns in Her Car After Driving into a Flooded Tunnel in Houston
If she had the presence of mind to open the door once the cabin filled, she could have easily made it out alive. That is, if she wasnt drunk. WTF was she doing with her cell phone light anyway.....looking at the water rush in?!

Cars keep power for longer than it took her to sink. She could've rolled down the windows. Or opened the door once it was fully flooded. She died because she's an idiot.

Re: Woman in a SUV Drowns in Her Car After Driving into a Flooded Tunnel in Houston
I’ve seen a few cars that were totally submerged after stuffing up a boat launch and all their electrics still worked. That said I wouldn’t want to test it.
