Re: Woman in a SUV Drowns in Her Car After Driving into a Flooded Tunnel in Houston
I drive by a lake with no guardrail everyday so this shit always scares the fuck out of me since I’m too fat to fit out the window. I’ve literally thought about this scenario as I drive by. I swear I’m starting my diet tomorrow. Could you imagine the headline? Girl drowns when overweight body gets stuck in window. Just the thought makes me want to die of embarrassment. As for this girl, I’m going to assume she couldn’t swim or didn’t want to get her hair wet. There’s no reason she shouldn’t have been able to escape out the hatch window.

Not really true. As long as the battery doesnt short you can operate everything. Also, all doors, except the rear doors with child lock on, will open with the pull of the handle, power or no power. This is a case of someone who was not thinking clearly. She grabbed a flashlight but should have grabbed the door handle and exited. Very sad. For everyone here, if you get into a similar accident quickly roll down the windows, if electric, so as the remove yourself from the vehicle as soon as possible. Do not drive through water on the roadway. Please!

Think she woulda made it if she speed up instead of break down before hitting the pool.

Just curious...perhaps I am missing something? Why was she unable to open the door or at least roll down a window and swim out? Perhaps she could not swim? It just does not look like she even tried to get out. I'm not making fun I am just confused? |

Okay, so she squeezed by an official vehicle that was acting as a roadblock during a time of inclement weather and flooding in an area that's known to flood easily, and then sat in her vehicle assuming someone would just swoop in and rescue her like a waiter brings food to a table. Clearly, this incident claimed one of the brightest minds of our generation. :-\ |
