Woman Suicide at Iguazu Falls.
Hi. First time poster here from Argentina. A woman decides to terminate her life by jumping into the Iguazu falls in Argentina. The place where she jumped is called Garganta del diablo (Evil's throat). Video was captured by a tourist.

Re: Woman Suicide at Iguazu Falls.
i too have often felt that way. especially when i saw a video of someone who climbed a pole with electrical wires attached to it. when a rescue team went up to try and rescue him, it was an innocent rescue person who died, not the suicidal asshole. how sad that someone trying to save anothers life sacrifices their own. perhaps the person who did the falls suicide video realized that they could have been taken down with her so they chose to video it instead. so in that respect, i'm with you, i can understand why one might not help a suicidal person. on the other hand, if one can help a suicidal person without endangering their own life then they should be helped. not because the suicidal person may an idiot, taking up space and wasting oxygen but for those who may remain after the person's death such as family and friends. also it may be a wake up call to get the person help. some people are hell bent to kill themselves with no known reason while others may only be having some sort of chemical imbalance that when taken care of, they are ok. in this persons case, she apparently knew she was going to die soon and probably just wanted to get it over with as quick as possible. i doubt that anyone could have done much for her. after all, would it be any better to convince her that life is great and worth living to the last breath when you know that by the time you actually convince her, she will probably be on her deathbed anyway? i personally think that in this case, filming was the best choice. however, most probably the person filming had no idea she was terminally ill or why she was committing suicide. if the person filming was afraid of being taken down with her, then hey, go ahead and film her. but if they thought that they could have prevented it but chose to film it instead, that is one sorry person. |
