A man, G. shot and killed his ex-partner in the face, when she was lying on the ground after receiving the first shot. He also wounded one of his children yesterday afternoon in Buenos Aires.

When he tried to flee, he was caught up by neighbors who shot him and began to beat him. Consequently, he had to be transferred as a detainee to a hospital, according to police sources.

The victim, identified as S. B. (46), was walking with her children. She met her ex-partner and after a short dialogue with the man, he pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and fired at the woman and her baby. She received a shot to the face that caused her to fall down.

Later, G. leaves the vehicle and approaches his former partner, whom he hits a couple of times with the rifle, and after that, he finishes her off with a bullet in the face.

Police interrogated one of her 29-year-old sons, who was also shot in the shoulder and right arm, with which he was taken by ambulance to the Hospital.

~ Knowing the kind of abusive person he was, for such a long time, she probably broke up with him, but he wasn't going to take no for an answer.
~ So he intended to kill her, & also his son with her, if he got in the way.
~ Yet she still wanted to give him a chance.

When OP said "a woman and her baby" I thought for sure there a literal baby somewhere in there, maybe strapped to her chest and that was what that bundle or lump was near her as she received the coup-de-grace at the end
