Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, India A 46-year-old woman, Geeta B.P., was returning on foot from farm work, carrying a vessel on her head, when she was fatally struck by lightning. Doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival at hospital. |

There's a 'purer' sense about this india electricity death somehow, in that it's not due to shitty construction regs etc., but rather one of their weird deities chose her.... not unlikely sparing her from a sadder and less spectacular electrocution later.  |

Her family rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead. Refusing to accept the results, her family brought her body back to the village and buried her in cow dung (paper) for several hours, believing in the superstition that the dung would draw electricity from her body and revive her. These local efforts were unsuccessful.
