If you notice, a lot of people who take gunshots to the head end up with black eyes. I’m sure someone here can explain why.

If you notice, a lot of people who take gunshots to the head end up with black eyes. I’m sure someone here can explain why.
Check out some of the slo-no taliban gunshot executions, her eyes probably almost came out of her head. I’m sure there are major skull fractures behind the two bruised lines on her forehead.

It is common for eyes to appear bruised or bulging after a GSW to the head. As the bullet enters the cranium it it creates a pressure wave that expands throughout the wound cavity. When/if the bullet exits the skull it may also create a reverse energy wave like pulling a cork from a champagne bottle. Both of these waves expand within the cavity and put pressure on the sinus and optic canal. This causes the blood vessels to rupture and may crack the sinus cavity causing broken noses, nose bleeds, bulging eyes and "panda eyes"
