Five days ago a 25 year old Thai woman, riding a red Honda motorcycle, died after she hit the brakes after a 26 male opened his car door causing her to swerve and fall into the path of a truck towing a trailer.

cuz trucks are the most lethal and destructive so they will have a better chance of ending up on websites like these for people like us to watch. also big trucks like that can just stop like regular cars, it takes a while. it was a common complaint I had heard among big rig drivers; that cars will cut them off and then slow down/stop quick for a light or traffic and it is a super deadly maneuver idiot drivers will pull off that kills thousands a year.

so that is why it always seems to be trucks. they are very lethal and they can not stop as quickly as other motor vehicles.

Totally. How could anyone not look and check before opening the door on a busy street like that. It's automatic for me.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway, because the braking distance would have been too long! If he breaked hard and unexpected, he'd have caused a possibly even bigger disaster...

I love to ride bikes. She was negligent: driving too close to car doors. You HAVE to always assume an idiot will suddenly open. The passenger was also an idiot ... I'd assign 75% fault to the lady, 25% to the car passenger.

Note that the truck had 6 wheels on that side. Four clearly bumped over her ... and the truck driver thoughtfully stopped when the final 2 wheels were sitting on her body. Very professional way of putting her out of her misery.

Certainly not the victim. The one that caused it was a guy imo.

Most cars in Thailand are mainly RHD so that might be the driver. They drive on the left hand side though.
