Woman Hanged Herself at a Grapefruit Tree Near Her House
Bangladesh, Case No. 07/16, Date 17 May 2016. A woman (22), died of asphyxiation. She is the only daughter of a native and an expat. One and a half months ago, she got married in Chittagong. The deceased's husband (45) told that they both fell asleep after eating food at the end of the day around 12pm. At 5 o'clock in the morning, the victim's grandmother came out of the house to bow down to pray but started screaming after seeing her granddaughter's body hanging on the nearest grapefruit tree. Police came to recover the body. In this incident, an unlawful case was filed at the police station. The body was sent to the District Hospital for autopsy. Family sources told that the mother of the deceased transfered money for the marriage to the victim's bank account. After about one and a half month, the victim was supposed to give the money to her husband during a ceremony. But the victim talked about making repairs to the house and took Tk 20,000 ($250) from the money. The victim's family are highly convinced that she was hanged in a rage due to that. |

Looks like a typical suicide to me. No disheveled clothing or disturbed surroundings. I would think that she would have fought like a wildcat to save her life if it were a homicide.

Survival instinct would make her stand up to save herself. More likely murder if you ask me.

Nah. That she didn't stand up makes it look like suicide. There are other videos on here that show if you want to die survival isn't in it. One for example shows a young man setting up a camera l, taking a swig off a sports drink and hanging himself on a doorknob. As Revzzban stated, there are no signs of struggle. Without knowing details of an autopsy it looks pretty clear. Odd thing to me was the guy filming. Full body pan as close as he seemed to dare and that creepy little chuckle while he was talking at one point. Odd. |
