Bangladesh. Popular female entrepreneur Sumaiya J. P. (22) of Chittagong was murdered by her husband at her home in Chittagong city, about dowry demands.

She is the daughter of Saudi expatriate Omar F. of Jhatiarkhil village, Chauddagram upazila.

Since the incident, the killer Abu S.MD.A has been trying to portray the matter as a suicide. In this incident, the elder sister of the deceased, Sajeda A, has filed a complaint with the Chittagong Police Station, accusing the husband of the deceased, the killer Abu, his mother and sister.

In the complaint, Sajeda A. said that her younger sister is a popular young female entrepreneur in Chittagong and Abu lured her into a love trap by tempting her in 2022.

Since marriage, Abu has been extorting money from her in various ways. When she refused to pay the money, he physically tortured her.

For the past several days, he has been pressing her for a dowry of 7 lakh taka. When she refused to pay the money, he beat her up several times.

He threatened that he would marry another girl if she did not pay the 7 lakh taka as demanded.

He murdered Prami at around 11 pm last Thursday and currently he is spreading rumors in various ways that she committed suicide with the help of a friend.

Highly unlikely this was murder.

I get anywhere from 10-30 female hanging suicide cases from south Asia across my desk every single day.

And every SINGLE one of them, the family is going bananas swearing up and down that it was murder, murder murder. Murder by a husband, murder by the inlaws, murder by the teacher, murder by the school bullies, murder by the spurned boss, etc etc etc. South Asia has the highest female suicide rate in the world and it's a shithole, so they have plenty of reason to hate being alive there. But the family of the dead girl never ever simply accepts that their daughter/sister/whatever's life was shitty and they killed themselves to get the fuck onto the next reincarnation.

This case is fundamentally no different whatsoever. No proof for anything, no understanding of the postmortem report, no actual codified history of abuse or anything else. Just rumor and hearsay, speculation and guesswork.

"Oh, her knees were on the bed, it had to be murder!"

"Oh, but she was happy and successful, it had to be murder. She would NEVER kill herself."

"Her husband trapped her and we all hated him, though we all just put up with it for years and years, but at the end of it all he must have killed her!"

It's seriously embarrassing to read through all the excuses and logical acrobatics these families will make to try to put the blame on one person rather than on the actual suicidal party.

Chances are good that he drove her to suicide. That (abetment) occurs fairly often. Far more often than just flat out murdering someone and staging a hanging. But abetment is not murder. It's actionable and it is unethical, but it is nowhere near the same as flat-out killing your wife with your own hands.

In any case, I'll be shocked as hell if anyone can prove a single thing in this case. The autopsy report will likely shut it down for good.

No injuries to the body, no signs of a struggle, classic partial suspension hanging with a stool on a bed, very typical in India. Hell, if you look at the bedsheet after they shift her corpse you can see there's a big obvious urine stain right beneath where she was kneeling-a very strong indicator that she was in that exact spot and in that exact position when she lost bladder control at the time of death. If he'd killed her elsewhere and then strung her up to simulate a suicide, the piss would be wherever he killed her at and not perfectly positioned below her ass on the bed.
