Woman Drowns After Leaning on a Wall That Gave Way Due to Heavy Rain
Brazil, The Fire Department entered the fourth day of searching for M. d. C. B, 78 years old, who fell and was carried away by the current of a canal next to her house. The elderly woman lost her balance after leaning on a wall that gave way due to heavy rain in the early hours of that day. The city was put under observation due to the forecast of rain for the next few hours that thursday, and in the morning some floods were recorded. The search continues continuously and with no end in sight. Agents have been tracking inside the stream, since 9:40 am on Thursday (26) but found nothing. In the search, drones and boats have already been used to assist. A security camera recorded the moment when the elderly woman leaned on a wall that gave way, around 8am.  |

Nobody even saw her fall! Poor lady. I suspect she was injured, or even killed, by debris when she went in the water. Watching the video at high speed you can see the wall is already slowly giving way, and it finally falls when she leans on it. |

Looks like her courtyard was lined with 4x8 plywood sheets, propped up against an original masonry wall. In slo-mo, she came out to straighten a plywood sheet that was tilting toward the canal. Her added weight dropped the entire courtyard into the canal.
