That's the result of a rusty rim on a split rim wheel, the come off with one hell of a force, they are banned in the UK, the used to have to be pumped up in a cage .

Saw one blow apart after my buddy set the air nozzle on the valve, sprayed ether around the inside of the rim, then threw a ball of flaming paper at the rim to ignite the ether and instantly set the tire bead as air filled it up..... 36 foot high 6 bay shop still has the dent in a ceiling beam! It was awesome! He had no cage but was under the impression a rusty old chain and half inch bolt would keep it together if it blew up..... nope!  |
