The guy with the black ball cap gave the rescuer the shirt off his back to cover up her stump, then reached down and grabbed a fresh shirt to put on. Good thinking. There's no use in wasting a fresh shirt to cover a corpse.

Actually people who have lost their legs to sharks, claim to feel little pain, suppose it depends on the clean bite, rather than needing a few chomps  ..I am an amputee, not a shark attack, forklift attack ..
