Service delays only 20 minutes? Death on the tracks is so routine now they move the train, scoop up the girl's remains, throw into a wheel barrow, and push them out the back to the feeding trough for the pigs?? All in 20 minutes??

I traveled throughout India for six months, and it is a shit hole of a country. I will never go back.

You forgot to say that India redefined your concept for shit hole

Anyone eating street food down there will no longer refuse to eat their lunch inside a filthy gas station rest room.

In 1988 my sister and her husband went to India. My best friends dad was an Indian born in Delhi who emigrated to Chicago, and he pleaded with my sister not to go to India, he said it was unsafe. My sister went anyway but left India a week early. She told the Thai Airlines counter lady that she couldn't take it anymore, the Thai lady said "I know what you mean" and booked her on the next flight to Bangkok for no change fees. My sister and hubby loved Bangkok and Thailand and had a great time there.

Over here (Australia) I work on the trains, when we have a fatality, whether suicide or not. The whole thing becomes a crime scene, passengers are evacuated and everything sits there until police and detectives release it and the body is removed. Crew are interviewed and breath tested. Can take up to several hours.

Australia is not a 3rd world country, India is. At the very least, it's way overcrowded and the laws are most of the times not followed or apply only to the very poor. Everyone who has the means wants to go in there and develop the country.

Never felt like this, although I have thought about what would bring a person to that point.

This extreme unhappiness has always been something I've never understood to the extent you'd do that.

I've been sad, depressed, down sometimes, but I'd treat myself to a movie and nachos and feel 'hundreds' afterwards. Life is 'fine!!' It's never been an 'issue' in my life.

Even during those 'little bitty sad moments,' I've only .... once, ever really, seriously considered suicide.
