Re: Woman Climbed High Voltage Tower and Gets Electrocuted and Falls
With that much power involved, you don't get 'electrocuted' as much as you get 'blown to shit'. I also freely admit to re-playing this video a few more times than discretion would dictate. It's a bit addictive!

Re: Woman Climbed High Voltage Tower and Gets Electrocuted and Falls
I used to lay across the top of those outer arms and hang those insulators onto the ends of the arm. THe insulator is the thing hanging off the metal arm but has the conductor attached to the bottom of it. Sometime we would have to stand on those arms and a helicopter would bring the conductor up to us to attach it. Sometimes we would go up in the bucket, very wobbly the further up you go as the arm extends. A guy died at my company because he fell out of the bucket from that height ~85ft up. He forgot to lock in his harness and fell out of the bucket to his death, while the other guy hung on for dear life from his harness. 3 fuckings things to think about: 1 - always remember to hook on 2 - hope your partner remembers when you don't 3 - operator of the truck/bucket should never raise it up until first confirming the guys are hooked in. 3 retard mistakes and cost the guy his life. But, would you expect anything different from a company that allows drinking and drugs on the job! |
