Last Monday on times square, NY, Pamela Cisneros, 49, from Queens, New York pulled two large kitchen knives out of a red Target shopping bag near 41st Street and Seventh Avenue.

She then randomly approached a 68-year-old man from Rhode Island, who had just exited the subway with his wife, and stabbed him in the abdomen. He remains at Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

Within 20 seconds, she walked a block north toward 42nd Street and stabbed Erin Piacenti before fleeing toward an NYPD police substation. Passersby alerted officers, triggering a tense four-minute standoff.

Cisneros explicitly threatened the officers, shouting, "I’m not dropping anything, I’d rather kill you both!"

Officers deployed tasers twice, but they failed to stop her. When she charged at them with the knives, two officers fired their service weapons, striking and killing her.

Pamela Cisneros’ brother says she had struggled with mental health for years but had recently seemed to be doing better and he had never known those struggles to make her violent.

The stabbed victim Erin Piacenti lived in New Jersey and worked as a vice president of business selection and conflicts at Bank of America. Her office was located right near the scene at One Bryant Park. She graduated from Fordham Law School in 2021 alongside her husband.
