Woman Attacked with Acid

RCMP in British Columbia are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in a disturbing acid attack.

Mounties say on Sept. 7 the man entered a Surrey business owned by Tammy Sinclair and her husband Gordon. After chatting briefly with Tammy, the suspect threw a jar of acid on her in what police believe was a targeted attack.

He then fled on foot and likely got into a vehicle waiting nearby.

The Sinclairs say they’d never seen the man before and have no idea why the man threw acid at Tammy.

“She never saw it coming,” Gordon told the Vancouver Sun.

Cpl. Bert Paquet says the attack has had devastating consequences for the victim. However, Tammy’s injuries were less severe than they might have been because she turned her head when the man threw the acid in her face.

“She dodged a bullet,” Gordon said.

Surrey RCMP say they’ve exhausted all possible avenues of investigation and today released video footage, hoping someone in the public may be able to identify the suspect.

In the video, a white male can be seen carrying a clear glass-type mug with clear liquid inside.

The RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian male, 20’s or 30’s, approximately 5’6″-5’10″, with very short hair (blond or light brown), no facial hair, wearing a black ball cap, dark hoodie, checkered shorts, white running shoes
