Woman With Accessibility Ran Over By Truck

24.08.2023 - A woman believed to be a disabled person (OKU) was killed by a lorry on a road near Pasar Raya Mega, Tangkak, Johor on Thursday. At the time of the incident, the disabled individual was first seen riding a bicycle in the area before stopping in front of the lorry. It is believed that she wanted to stop by the supermarket, the woman stopped in the lorry's blind spot which at once caused the driver's view to be obstructed. Unaware of the existence of the woman, the driver then continued to move from the location which at once witnessed the individual being crushed to the bottom of the heavy vehicle. The incident, which was recorded through a closed circuit camera (CCTV), went viral on media sites and garnered more than 10,000 total views. It is understood that the disabled woman died at the scene and was taken to the hospital for further treatment. Although the accident was caused by the driver's negligence, in the comment section, the average netizen thought that the vehicle's blind spot area was indeed dangerous.
