Wollo Oromo People Travelling in an Ambulance Were Shot and Now Stabbed
Ethiopia. Wollo Oromo people travelling in an ambulance towards addis Abeba at the end of March were shot by Amhara Special Forces and then a mob of Amharans started stabbing and beating them. The Amharas are one of the two largest ethnolinguistic groups in Ethiopia (the other group being the Oromo).  The conflict started, between Wollo Oromo people and Amhara Special Forces, after Amhara Special Forces killed an individual at the entrances of the grand mosque in ataye, oromia zone of Amhara region. The Amhara Liyu Police are attacking civilians and ongoing a blazing movement. Eyewitness evidences blame the Amhara regional special forces while the Amhara regional government accuse both OLF-Shene and TPLF as scape goat of the violence.  Two Members of Ethiopian parliament accused Amhara liyu police for killing the Oromo civilian in ataye, Oromia zone by labelling them what he called ‘’bread name” refers to OLF. “Amhara Militia used OLF-Shane as a pretext to commit war crime on Oromo farmers in Wollo for the three major reasons the MP said on 11th Session of parliament of Ethiopia. The reasons are (1) their national identity (being an Oromo), (2) their religious identity (being Muslim) and (3)use the atrocity as a bargaining threat to fulfill all their demands in Oromia region” This violence is very uncommon as Oromos and Amharas have peacefully co-existed in Shewa and Wollo for centuries despite having ethnic, regional, linguistic, cultural and religious differences. |

if it were me in that crowd, upon hearing gunshots, I'd be hitting the deck or running away. Most people are horrible shots. Perhaps those people are jaded...
