They regularly allow trains to go full speed through populated areas with pedestrian traffic. Do ya suppose if they slowed down for safety reasons we'd have less train death videos from India on DR? A train splat anywhere is sad enough, but they almost always seem to be from India. Just an observation. |

Trains here in the USA go thru high traffic suburban crossings at 75+ mph all day. We seem to have about 1 death per year around my Chicago suburb from trains, maybe 70% are suicides. There are about 4 times more people in India than USA, this might explain some of the discrepancy, plus you don't have American crowds celebrating fireworks displays standing on active train tracks.
