Vietnam, This morning, just before 10 o'clock, a wheeled excavator, driven by Mr. L. V. L. (29), was turning right at an intersection. However the excavator collided with Ms.N.T.L, 44, who was walking across the street. The accident caused the victim to die on the spot Immediately after the incident, the Traffic Police force was present in time to protect the scene, regulate traffic and coordinate with functional units to conduct an examination to clarify the cause of the accident. The case has been received and handled by the Criminal Police Department. |

It got her legs just right to slam her head to the pavement. Even her walking helmet it wasn’t enough to save her. |

Never felt a thing, she saw it coming but probably figured the exacavator had seen her and would steer wide. Pretty quick stop, though! I wonder if companies supplying construction vehicles and trucks and such have added an auto-brake 'there's a person under the vehicle' safety mechanism....

Re: Wheeled Excavator Runs Over a Woman Crossing the Street
This reminds me of the one feature of my Jaguar XF that I hated the most. The Pedestrian Protection System. Attached is an actual page from the real Jaguar XF Owners' Manual. If some fucking pedestrian decided to jaywalk in front of my car, it was designed to damage itself (making it undrivable) just to reduce the chance of the dimwit being injured. Detectors in the front bumper activate when they detect a person being hit by the car. Immediately, under-bonnet airbags just in front of the A pillar fire causing the (aluminium) bonnet to pop up to cushion their fall. I am sure that JLR offered an optional extra where a drinks tray and personal entertainment system would be deployed to keep the moron comfortable too. It really pissed me off because there were a few occasions where jaywalkers nearly got to experience it. |

Re: Wheeled Excavator Runs Over a Woman Crossing the Street
Seems to me like they both had 2 business days to notice each other. Like absolutely no situational awareness. When I cross a road I’m hustling and looking all around. I don’t FAFO.
