Vlad's soldiers would typically ram an unsharpened pole up the victims ass or vagina and plant the pole in the ground. An unsharpened pole was used so there were less punctured organs, and it could take hours to die. Vlad would often sit down for lunch at a table near impaled victims so he could enjoy their agony. Vlad learned about impalement while he was a political prisoner of the Turks, and used their execution method as a terror weapon against the moslems when they invaded Vlad's area of Wallachia, if I remember correctly....
