Exactly. Also, those large sticks were in fact a superior weapon against the machete. The mistake they made was trying to swing it. A large stick isn't going to move quick (as we saw) making it easy to duck out of the way. A better strategy would be to use it as a staff and poke machete guy in the midsection or groin.
