Oof, that heat was intense. The red glow from the electrical incursion nearly eclipsed the blue skies; only other time I've seen that is with nuclear explosions.

Was that vapor from inside the man's body that knocked his hard hat right off his head?

The glow only affected the camera's logarithmic response to on scene light level increase, and the hat was knocked when his head hit the pole.
