link doesn't work but it's probably this clip, taken from a longer released bodycam footage.

Re: Video From GRPD Shooting of Patrick Lyoya
P. L, a 26-year-old Black man, died Monday, April 4 following a traffic stop near the intersection of Griggs and Nelson on the city's southeast side. He was the driver of the vehicle. A passenger was also in the vehicle at the time. Here’s a timeline of events related to the deadly shooting. Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom told the suspect ran from the officer, and then struggled with that officer when the officer caught up to him. Investigators say the officer shot him during the struggle. Grand Rapids police say the officer was wearing a body camera. It fell off during the struggle, but GRPD says the camera was still on the scene and activated. Family of the man has seen the dash camera and body camera video of the incident. They dispute the account of what happened. They say the video shows him being shot in the back of the head The Grand Rapids Police Department plans to release it during a news conference scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday. Prior to the videos being shown, Grand Police Chief Eric Winstrom says he will provide additional context to the footage, provide an update and explain the next steps in the investigative process. |

Re: Video From GRPD Shooting of Patrick Lyoya
I guess the moral of this story is "don't bring a taser to a gunfight".

Re: Video From GRPD Shooting of Patrick Lyoya
Police are trained when they’re raiser is token from theyre opposer or someone has it in there possession,to immediately pull out your firearm, almost always leading in that situation someone dying,he was just doing what the police trained him to do

Re: Video From GRPD Shooting of Patrick Lyoya
The officer shouldn't have shot him, but just think, had the criminal complied he wouldn't be dead. EDIT: The cop was in the right to shoot him, just realized he really did have the cops tazer. |

Re: Video From GRPD Shooting of Patrick Lyoya
Had the young man gotten a hold of his taser and used it on the officer, he could have then grabbed his gun and finish him off. He already tried to use non-lethal force to get him to comply. Was he supposed to wrestle him until he actually got possesion of the taser and in position to use it?
