Re: Vandal in Electric Wheelchair Plunges Down Elevator Shaft and dies
assholes come in all shapes and colors and yes some of them are in wheelchairs . on public transit there are a regular few - the back of motor chairs covered with political slogans and magic marker signs that say things like : BECKY'S BOOK NOOK ISNT ACCESSABLE BOYCOTT BECKY'S . and they blab and blab to the driver like they have some Special Relationship . Most of all these guys , they will roll over your feet and i almost feel like they are happy about it .

Re: Vandal in Electric Wheelchair Plunges Down Elevator Shaft and dies
Oh,dear,I laughed.I am so going to hell. Unfortunately, and it's not popular to say this, but there are a LOT of disabled people with chips on their shoulders. My auntie( disabled due to childhood polio) belongs to a disabled lobby group, and while some of the folks there are as nice as pie,a LOT of them are always looking for offence and evidence of discrimination so they can sue everybody's asses off. This organisation is always ringing up businesses and threatening to sue them if they don't provide disabled access. There's no mediation or simply talking as human beings to explain the issues of access and provide insight into its importance. To coin a phrase, they don't get access, they just get even.A friend of my aunt has sued the body corporate of her building, her employer, the local shopping centre etc. It's ridiculous. When my sister was a new mother, the amount of places that had no pram access was astonishing.Did she sue everybody's asses off? No.While as a carer of a disabled person I have great empathy(note, not sympathy) for their challenges & believe a more balanced world involves access for all,I can tell you that a lot of them are not "brave little soldiers",but regular assholes just like anybody else can be. |
