Re: USA - Philly Fight Turns Deadly

I don't understand what you mean. Please elaborate.

You're absolutely correct. I have never fired a gun before.

HOWEVER, i DO understand based on everyday experience that the legs cover a larger surface area than the head and are an easy target to shoot at when someone is laying on the ground.

If you can shoot at a person's head, you might as well shoot them in the leg. A shattered bone will incapacitate an individual long enough for you to either apprehend them or flee.
Or you might hit them in the femoral artery and watch them bleed out before your eyes. If you're ever at a point where you're using lethal force against somebody trying to hurt you, sparing their life is the last thing on your mind.

I won't deny that there are times when lethal force might be the only recourse, but in the situation depicted in this particular video, there were plenty of alternatives.

Also, the head is a very small target to shoot at. You could shoot someone in the chest in order to incapacitate them.

I feel that most people who insist that the only way to defend yourself is to kill someone just want to know what it feels like to kill someone, so they can wear it as a badge of honor or something.

That black man dissevered it. He targeted Asian.

Re: USA - Philly Fight Turns Deadly

Not in this particular instance.

The black dude was already winded, already on the ground.

The Asian with the gun could have just pointed the gun at him and commanded him not to move while telling his friend to call the police, or he could have called the police himself, or he could have told the cameraman to do so.

Since the black man was already in a seated position, Asian could shoot him in the abdomen as someone suggested, or in the legs.

Asian guy had options; he deliberately went for a kill shot.

The courts tally up all of the circumstances and whether there was ample time or resources for the "killer" to avoid having to take a life. As I just stated above, these guys had an embarrassment of alternatives.
I’m not debating this situation as it’s murder in this circumstance. However, shooting someone in the legs or stomach isn’t taken into account when the charges are decided.

Yes it is.

Defense counsel can argue that the defendant was not intending to kill, merely to stop an imminent threat. That has a better chance of swaying a judge than a direct shot to the face.

Yea but that shit never works. The law looks at any shot…regardless if you shot them in the foot…or put the gun in their mouth and shot them as murder/attempted murder. The only way that might sway a jury is on what degree they find the defendant guilty.

Re: USA - Philly Fight Turns Deadly

Most people understand that a headshot is sure to be a killshot. In the amount of time it takes you to pull out your gun and pull the safety back, you have time to consider where you're going to shoot. As a matter of fact, it should be in your mind the moment the gun is first placed into your hands.
Wtf are u talking about when u say pull the safety back?? I’ve never known a gun with a SAFETY switch u have to pull back?!?!?
Do u mean pull the chamber back or cock the gun? Or pull the trigger? How are u arguing this long on something u have proven in all ur comments on this post u know absolutely ZERO about. Just continue to the next thread please if u know nothing about the shit spilling off ur keyboard

That could mean the difference between a few years or even acquittal, based on evidence that points to self-defense, to a life sentence without parole if convicted of first degree murder.
