Re: USA - Philly Fight Turns Deadly
If you shoot and wound a person you’re liable and can be sued for all your worth. However, if you kill someone, let’s say in self defense, you won’t suffer any legal battles and you won’t go to jail. Wounding a person by gunshot will land you in the poor house.. |

Re: USA - Philly Fight Turns Deadly
You are incorrect. The courts assess whether a person's actions are justified or excessive. You are not automatically given license to shoot someone that approaches you dead; that is a very LIBERAL application of the self-defense argument. A close friend might approach you rapidly in order to hug you. Someone might approach you rapidly in order to keep you from an imminent danger. A three year old Vietnamese kid with a backpack might confuse you with his parent and start banging on your leg. You do NOT have a right to immediately shoot them in the face. The only person who has a gun in this scenario is the Asian person. There is plenty of distance between him and the aggressor. He could have pointed a gun at the individual and told him to stay down or he would shoot. In MANY cases, that would be enough to make a person keep still. You have a gun. You can shoot a person in the leg, you can shoot them in the shoulder, you can shoot them in the fucking STOMACH, ANYTHING to incapacitate them. Yes, there is the chance that you might strike them in the femoral artery and accidentally kill them, but there is evidence that he was attacking you and that you were not necessarily aiming to kill, only to incapacitate, and death was merely coincidental. However, taking the time to pull out a gun and aim at someone's head is a completely different matter. That is a deliberate kill shot. |

Re: USA - Philly Fight Turns Deadly
That depends on the circumstances, and as this video clearly shows: the black man was no innocent bystander. HOWEVER, it is also clear that the man was on the ground when the other party pulled out a gun and shot him point blank in the face.

Nice to see some Asians fighting back against all these blactivities.
