Exactly...thank you! Some might argue the crossing guard wasn't visible in the location where she was standing, but that is irrelevant due to the fact people are clearly visible within the crosswalk boundaries on the street. Driver is in the wrong for being in too big of a hurry.

Anyone looking more closely at the video would observe that the crossing guard displayed impaired gait and balance, and most likely suffered from some kind of cognitive decline, probably due to age and/or dementia.

This would also explain how she planted herself into the street, with her back to traffic, completely oblivious to her surroundings and the danger thereof.

Crossing guards are ridiculous anyway and should be banned—with the exception of elementary school crossings perhaps.

Lastly, they should be tested for adequate spatial awareness, reflexes, mentation and physical fitness.

I always hate seeing them anyway, as I think the whole idea is ridiculous, stupid, counterproductive and hopelessly anti-Darwinian, for the reasons he stated (I'm paraphrasing 'philovan' here).

Ironically, it was the crossing guard that actually needed to be babysitted like a small child; imagine the outcome, if the moron "crossing guard" had a vulnerable person next to them, exactly where she stood, in a misguided attempt to help that innocent person cross the street... most likely, another life taken due to stupidity.

The only other person who is more of a cretin than the "crossing guard," is the imbecile who gave her that undeserved, completely
clueless responsibility.
