The family of 22-year-old Yahacov Dennis is speaking out after he died following a shooting incident in Charleston over the weekend. Dennis was a student at Eastern Illinois University. London Griffin, his younger sister, shared the following statement from the family regarding his passing: “Yahacov (Cov) Dennis was a bright soul. Cov was love personified. He was a loving, caring person who’s smile can brighten up any room. He touched every single person he met. Cov just gotten back to attending EIU and was ready and excited to finish getting his degree. Cov was more than fine. Cov was loved. Our family deserves the Truth and Yahacov deserves Justice.” |

Interesting thought. There are 3 or 4 different levels with retention holsters that attempt to balance weapon security with access. The fact the dead guy served in the military gave him an edge on how to quickly unholster the weapon. That said, a police officer has to use good judgment on how close to get to someone. Stay out of reach and close the perimeter only if the person needs to be searched or restrained. I can't count the number of "gone wrong" videos I've see where a safe distance wasn't maintained to allow reaction time.
