I lived not far from this intersection for a long time. It’s on the south end of the Baldwin Hills, and S La Brea over that hill is like a small freeway that is generally not crowded. People love to fly over that hill and move at top speed. You then approach the Slauson intersection traveling slightly downhill, which does a number on your brakes if you’re moving at a clip. I’ve seen so many people fly through that intersection; if they’ve made good time over the hill and the southbound light is green, they want to keep their momentum and not be caught by the light. It’s pretty dangerous.

This nurse, though…. I’m guessing she was on something. Looks like she never slowed down. Texting, or drunk or high. And she chose a job to care for others. Worthless.
