Watch dale earn harts death then. It looks like barely anything happens but you have to remember that he hit the wall going 200mph. This guy probably got his neck snapped.

In high-speed traffic incidents (or where a lot of force is involved) aortic dissections occur. Some part of the aorta goes into the retroperitoneal space and back into the peritoneum. That weakness means that when lots of force gets exerted, the aorta just snaps at that weak spot. This is why most people die in high speed crashes.

I'd venture to guess that his insides were pretty well shaken up... easy to rip and tear organs in there when you're moving that fast... and then suddenly stop. Think about the forces still being exerted on the body. Like violently shaking a raw egg...
