At their core, the police exist to protect citizens' private property rights.

There's no obligation on their part to protect or serve you personally. Like you stated the supreme court ruled on that very thing after a couple of cops hid in the vestibule while a dude got stabbed on the subway and someone sued.


Those "protect and serve" stickers are disingenuous on their parts because they're not trained or legally obligated to do either.
