Re: USA - Cop Accidentally Kills Subject

While accidental, and therefore not a murder, which requires malice aforethought, this is pretty obviously negligent homicide and the officer should face that charge.

Re: USA - Cop Accidentally Kills Subject

Nothing accidental about that. Pure negligence. He should be charged and convicted of murder. Why? Because everyone else would be and they should be held to a even high standard. Sadly, they will likely justify the shooting because he was wanted and nothing will happen to the officer most likely
Bullshit. ***** had a gun in a ziplock bag.

These officers acted swiftly and professionally and even rendered first aid immediately. Fuck that anti police shit y’all trying to spin here.

The "Cop Accidentally Kills Subject"?
How can you say it was not an accidental/negligent misfire? Sure the guy had a gun but it still does not justify not being able to handle your own gun as a cop. I'd love to hear your point of view on this.

No such thing as an accidental police shooting or coincidences.

I don’t feel like claiming it was an accident is necessarily fair at all - the guy clearly had a gun and would have been shot moments later regardless. Plus he was already attempting to flee with the gun in his hands. His gun was in a ziplock bag and was dropped by the curb between him and the car.

If an attacker has a weapon and is heading or escaping into a more public area it is crucial they are stopped before they can cause more harm to the general public.

The officers did what was needed to stop the threat, a well placed shot ended it.

If this guy had gotten away and hurt someone else or carjacked them etc. everyone would be like WHY DIDNT THEY SHOOT HIM OMG.

Just my two thoughts.

Re: USA - Cop Accidentally Kills Subject

This was OBVIOUSLY an accident. This is like fighting with the police, rolling on the ground and somehow winding up with a broken neck, and even the officer doesn't know how it happened. You won't wind up with a broken neck if you DON'T FIGHT. The sad reality is that black people are hating cops, because they fight the cops and get hurt/killed or whatever and blame the cops. The logic here sounds like a symptom of Cranialrectitis. Literally a group of people, black people, are fighting cops, teaching their kids to fight cops, carry guns and aren't afraid of guns, and act like thugs to the cops are getting hurt by the cops and blame the cops.

Black people are stereotyped. If I was black, I would be yelling at other black people to stop being the stereotype that would put ME at risk. Cops are afraid of black people for a reason. Stop the stereotype by not being the stereotype. If blacks suddenly loved the police and always brought them donuts, stopped carrying guns and came up to their cars thanking them for helping the community, and when they're pulled over, they are courteous and show respect, maybe the police wouldn't be afraid of blacks.

Literally black people are attacking the police, then blaming the police for being afraid of them and becoming trigger happy. I'm a white dude. I've been pulled over and yelled at the cops and when I have, I didn't get a ticket or had a gun pulled on me. The cops aren't afraid of me because I'm white and don't act like a thug. This is the discussion that is NOT out there. Why are the police killing blacks? Because of the stereotype. I'm afraid of blacks in the hood too.

BTW, in the hood, it is not cool to desire an education, to go to school, to be successful, to abide by the law. The peer pressure teaches the youth in the hoods to carry a gun, hate the police and act like a gangster to be cool. If you don't do those things, you're a nerd and get picked on. It was a very interesting conversation I had with a few from the hood. This means it's a cultural problem in the hood and not a race issue. However it becomes a race issue.
For what it's worth, I think this is one of the only thoughtful comments to be found in this discussion. I'm not sure what "hood culture" is, but gangster culture is dysfunctional and destructive. So is much of police culture as I understand it. They're both warped by decades of conflict. That said, the real problem here is that this particular cop fucked up and his negligence cost someone his life.
