The family of a man, 21 year old MLJ Jr., shot and killed by an undercover Louisville Metro Police Department detective is pushing back on the department's explanation of why he was shot. When the door opened in the video, J. is seen with a gun and Det. Matthew Hayden is heard shouting "police" before shooting him. During a news conference on Friday morning, the J' family attorney said the detective should have seen J. approaching with a gun and gotten out of the car first.  The attorney also said J. approached the car because it had very dark tinted windows and had been parked for a long time. The father of a man who was killed while allegedly carjacking two undercover Louisville Metro Police officers on Monday remembers his son. Yup, he was such a good boy. He just got with the wrong crowd that’s why he was trying to carjack someone with his child and baby’s mother closeby. look at him smiling in those pics with his wife and with his baby. pretty normal though to go out in the woods with wife and kid and wear a mask and opening unknown car doors brandishing a gun. he didn't think anyone was in the car, then why did he feel the need to have his gun out and at the ready? |

Cop did a great job. Lucky to be alive. Have to secure the scene first. The girlfriend was probably in on it and may have had a gun. Dead guy's buddies could be around too. The perp was wearing a mask, coming at the cop with a gun pointed right at him. If you side with the criminal it just goes to show how stupid our society has become.
