US Airman Falls to Death In Failed Stunt at College Football Game
An airman fell 150ft to his death during a pre-match stunt at a college American football game in Texas. The serviceman was taking part in a abseiling demonstration when he struck the field at San Antonio’s Alamodome on Saturday in front of thousands of spectators. Four airmen were scheduled to descend from the stadium roof on ropes about 15 minutes before kick-off of the University of Texas at San Antonio’s annual game against the US Naval Academy, which honours the armed forces. But one airman, of the 6th Combat Training Squadron, appeared to lose control during his descent, sliding down the rope before crashing to the turf. The man was rushed to hospital, but he later died from his injuries. Military officials have not released the serviceman’s identity. The game was played regardless, with UTSA winning 38-34. |

Cheerleaders looking at each other... So... should we keep cheering and pom-poming, or not?

Tragic. it was part of a salute to armed forces and veterans night. San Antonio's nickname is Military City USA. They do this every year when they play a home game on a saturday in mid-October or early November to align near Veterans Day or standard military appreciation months and now they played against U.S. Naval Academy it was fitting to do so yesterday eve.

Damn. You can tell something went wrong, then he tried to stop himself by holding onto the rope and damn near caused a friction fire in his palms. Poor guy.
