Re: Unsteady Man Ends His Life by Stabbing Himself in the Chest
Street lights that use conventional light bulbs (i.e. not LEDs) emit a massive amount of near-infrared light invisible to the human eye. The puddle of blood happens to be at an angle where its surface acts as a mirror and reflects the full spectrum of light into the camera's sensors. Since the camera is in coloured night vision (often called starlight), it's utilizing highly light-sensitive sensors and the infrared-cut filter is turned off (which is on at daytime to prevent the image from becoming overexposed and washed out), the massive amount of near-infrared light reflected from the puddle of blood oversaturates the sensors and that area shows up as white in the digital image. |
